Business challenge

Technicians received printed work orders in the morning and reported them on paper in the evening. Preventive maintenance plans lived in SAP but were scheduled in a spreadsheet, spare parts were requested by phone, and the planner spent the day chasing status instead of planning.

Solution

Futera built two applications on SAP PM. The technician's mobile application shows the day's orders by priority and location. The technician opens the order, sees the equipment, its history and the task list, follows the checklist step by step, records measurements, photographs the finding, requests or consumes spare parts from stock, and confirms time and work on the spot. A breakdown is reported from the same phone with a notification against the equipment. The planner's web interface shows the whole picture: open notifications, the order backlog, technician capacity, and the preventive maintenance plans with their next due dates. Orders are scheduled by dragging them onto a technician and a day, preventive orders are generated from the plans, and the planner sees at once when a line is overdue for service. Everything is standard SAP PM underneath: notifications, orders, confirmations, measurement documents and material movements.
